The Dancing Butterfly

As I relaxed outside today to enjoy the warm sunshine and cool air, I noticed the "white dancing butterflies" in the garden.  It was so peaceful to sit there and to watch them flutter from one plant to another.  As if they had no care in the world.

Watching nature is so symbolic of our own lives.  Even though we don't have wings to fly, we still have the opportunity of sharing ourselves with people around us.  Sometimes we just don't want to reach out and share happiness and joy with someone.  Are you in a rut in life?  Get out there and do something for someone else.  Spread your arms and embrace life!

Butterflies are so adaptable to their environment.  We need to learn to be sensitive to our surroundings.  You don't have to put yourself into a situation that doesn't build you up.  Be around people and circumstances that encourage and support you.

Also, butterflies teaches us metamorphosis.  Butterflies shed the old before they can become the beautiful creatures that they are.  We need to remember that sometimes we need to back-off and to allow the process to happen.  The adult butterfly only emerges as the conditions are right.  We need to remember that there will always be "changes".  When we do develop and gain our growth, our life will take on a new formation and we will be ready for our next phase in life.

As the butterflies danced among the flowers, they remind us not to be so serious, but to enjoy our surroundings.  We need to embrace changes as they happen. People tell us "to stop and smell the roses".  Maybe we need to stop and dance with someone.  Dancing always brings a smile to your face, as well as laughter.  Laughter is so cleansing.

The white color reminded me of purity and the cleanliness that we all strive for.  As we all know, no one is perfect. But we all need to be the best that we can be.  The Indians believed that the white butterfly represented "a guardian spirit, ushering you along the path of life".  The butterfly represents the endurance, change, hope and life that we all need.

For even just a few minutes, taking time to watch the white butterflies dancing, took away the stress and problems around me.

Do yourself a favor!  Get outside and watch nature perform and I promise you, you will have a different outlook on life!
